What's the difference between magnetic switch and regular switch ?

Switch, as an important of mechanical keyboard, is used to trigger the key to produce command, which is under the keycap.

Different Switches determine the force required to press the key cap, feel, sound, and trigger time. Since we use the keyboard maybe is for a different need, like some is for gaming, while others are mainly for typing. There are hundreds thousands of switches to choose from in the market now.

Switch, according to typing feeling, there are linear, tactile, and clicky versions. While according to their various working principles, there appears magnetic switch.

Taking Cherry Red switch as an example:

The switch is pressed down once, the metal is loosened and touched together to trigger a command, and then the switch returns to its original position, the metal is tightened and the pom go back to its original place, and the breaking contact is complete.

While for magnetic switch:

There is a magnet on the switch, and the Hall sensor is on the bottom. Press the switch magnet and the Hall sensor is to trigger the induction. After returning, the induction becomes weak, so that the breaking contact is completed.

What makes magnetic switch unique?

There is a tech called Rapid Trigger(RT)

The magnetic switch can be used to adjust the actuation position and stroke length through the magnetic connection with the Hall sensor (no physical contact), so that even the extremely short stroke travel can trigger the key, which means the key can work faster than the mechanical switch.

This is how it happens

When the total length of a switch is 4mm, and the trigger point and RT point are set at 2mm. After pressing 2mm each time and go back with 2mm travel, it completes a trigger with 4mm in total, 2 trigger with 6mm only.

And if we set the trigger point at 2mm, and RT point at 1mm, there only needs 5mm to get 2 triggers.

compared with magnetic switch, the regular mechanical switch needs 12mm in total.

Speed speaks for itself, no matter for dozens of triggers.

What’s other functions based on RT tech

DKS:Achieve 1 to 4 functions according to 4 different press levels

MT:  A single key provides two functions: Hold the key for one function, while click the key for the other

TGL: Click the key to continuously trigger.  Hold the key to trigger normally.

For more details, please refer to Kzzi magnetic keyboard G68 or G68se.

All in all, the best advantage of magnetic switch is the super fast speed.

Are there any other advantages?

Of course,

<1ms latency

G68se equipped with 8000hz polling rate pcb, super lower latency becomes possible.

Smoother and Longer lifespan in gaming or typing

Do not need to consider the physical contact of the mechanical switch, the pom only needs to go straight up and down, so the magnetic switch keyboard is very smooth when using.

Who should have a try G68SE magnetic switch keyboard?

FPS lover, like CSGO2, Valorant,APEX and so on

Using the magnetic switch keyboard, to stop the movement only requires 1-2mm journey, which is calculated in milliseconds, and the winner can be quickly distinguished in the player.

Music rhythm game, like OSU

Requiring a single button to send a large number of fast commands, the magnetic switch is simply a miracle.

3、For gamers who use a large number of keys on the keyboard, the magnetic keyboard can extend the life of the keyboard and avoid constantly changing the keyboard and re-acquainting themselves with keyboard

4、Users who still feel laborious in the overall force feedback of the regular mechanical keyboard, i believe G68SE could be relatively more comfortable.

Which model of magnetic switch keyboard did kzzi launch already?

G68 and G68se
